My friend, Triona, was delightfully Irish. In fact, as we sat down to watch an Irish rugby game against the All-Blacks on TV, you could tell that she was wonderfully patriotic. Alas, the Irish team suffered a heavy loss, with both sides giving a lackluster performance, and, after the game, I could tell that she was visibly shaken by the result. She had been so sure of an Irish victory. Then she told me that one of her relations had told her to be on the shoulder of the leading Irish scorer, to assist him in making the tries.
